Background

I started in IT early and have worked across helpdesk, field installation, software development, and independent consulting. That path left me comfortable moving between a database query, a firewall rule, and a layout problem in the same day.

Today I build static websites and small web applications, run Debian and Ubuntu servers, and automate the work around them. I care about systems that can be understood by the next person: clear files, documented decisions, and as few moving parts as the job allows.

I am drawn to work where technical breadth matters and the constraint is real — a server that has to stay up, a build that has to be repeatable, a page that has to remain readable on a slow connection.

How I work

1. Understand before adding Most problems are not solved by another dependency. Read the system, find the actual constraint, then change as little as possible.
2. Prefer boring technology Plain HTML, Debian, systemd, and files on disk are easy to hand over and still work in ten years. Novelty has to earn its place.
3. Write it down Decisions and non-obvious setup steps belong in the repository, next to the code — not only in someone’s memory.
